About Us

The Program in Computational Biology aims to bring together researchers in computational biology — including faculty, students, postdocs, and computational scientists — from across the University of Chicago. We aim to build a community in which all researchers, at every career stage and whatever their background, feel enabled and inspired to do science of the highest caliber that can transform our world. We are informal and open to all. If you would like to attend one of our events, including seminars and lunches, please join us!

Several graduate programs at the University of Chicago attract students interested in computational biology. Prospective students interested in computational biology should make sure to check out the Computational Track in the Human Genetics and GGSB graduate programs. Those with a particular interest in evolutionary genetics should also consider the graduate program in Ecology and Evolution. And those with a strong mathematical background should also consider the Ph.D. programs in Statistics and Computational and Applied Mathematics (CCAM), or the Ph.D. programs in Biophysics.
